About Susan Lester

 

Susan has lived on the eastern shore for over 20 years. The local charm and beauty of the area have inspired her to want to create art from the activity and nature surrounding her, and her painting reflects the abundance of boating, fishing, crabbing, water activities, children and wildlife in the area.

 

After retiring from teaching Susan is enthusiastically embracing a passion for art. She finds it difficult to drive through the rural areas without stopping to snap pictures of spring trees in bloom, herons wading in ditches and eagles soaring over-head. The pictures quickly become subjects for watercolors that pin down that moment of joy.

 

With no previous formal training, Dorchester Center for the Arts instructors of watercolor classes inspired the new eagerness for painting and has taught her the basic fundamentals, advanced concepts and connected her with other lovers of art.
